American Military Retaliation For Terrorism
[ send me this essay ]
5 pages in length. Political analysts have effectively addressed the idea of force as the primary element of war; inasmuch as force is the primary vehicle for political terrorists, it stands to reason that if the element of force did not exist, there would be no motivation for battle. With this in mind, it is relatively easy to apply this concept to the notion of terrorism and the manner by which the United States responds to such acts, since the ultimate goal of any terrorist is to obtain the desired commodity through drastic and often deadly means of force. This, then, justifies any and all retaliation that the United States may take in order to uphold national honor and global power. By understanding this obvious correlation, the student can effectively argue that President Clinton's decision to bomb Sudan and Afghanistan in 1998 was part and parcel to America's ongoing effort to quell the perpetuating terrorist activities.
